Core drilling is how services get through concrete. A diamond-tipped core barrel cuts a perfectly round hole through a slab, wall or beam and lifts the concrete out as a single solid core. There is no hammering and no spalling, so the surrounding concrete stays sound and the hole is ready for a pipe, conduit or sleeve.
Cutaway cores every day for plumbers running stacks and floor wastes, electricians needing risers and cable penetrations, fire services contractors and mechanical trades running ducts and refrigerant lines. We drill vertically through floors, horizontally through walls and at angles where the design calls for it.
Coring is a precise job, and the expensive mistakes happen when the drill finds a post-tension cable or a live conduit. That is why we scan before we core wherever the slab hasn't been cleared. One visit covers both.
Floor, wall and overhead coring
Our rigs anchor or vacuum-mount to the surface so the barrel runs straight and true. We core down through suspended slabs, sideways through block and concrete walls, and overhead where access means drilling up.
Wet coring keeps the barrel cool and the dust down. Water and slurry are controlled at the hole and below it, which matters when there's a finished ceiling or an occupied floor underneath.

Penetrations for every trade
Hole sizes range from small cores for cable and condensate lines through to large penetrations for stormwater, sewer stacks and ductwork. We match the core to the sleeve or fire collar you are installing.
On multi-level jobs we can set out and core a full stack of penetrations floor by floor, keeping them aligned so your risers run straight.
